November 5th 2021
Hard to believe we are already fully into November. Also a bit confusing when we go from snow one week, to 18 degrees the next.
We’ve wrapped up our donation drive, and I’d like to thank everyone who was able to send a donation. We were able to gather about 7-8 large boxes of donations to give to those in need.
Last week’s blog mentioned I’d be sending home reading this week. I must apologize as this won’t be going home until this coming week. I’m still in the process of assembling the duotangs, response sheets, and level-appropriate books for everyone.
We have a short week coming up, with no school on Thursday or Friday, and a Remembrance Day assembly on Wednesday. Wednesday is also “Red and Regal day”, students are encouraged to wear red or dress a little nicer to help us commemorate Remembrance Day.
Here’s a look at what we’re up to.
Maths: We will be starting our Statistics and probability unit by looking at different ways to represent data.
French: We will be doing a letter-writing project based on our Zigzag book. We will also be taking time to read and practice the next dictée.
English: We have our spelling test on Wednesday, we’ll be doing some practice for that along with some reading strategies and grammar.
Science: We will be wrapping up our Waste and our World unit and having a brief introduction to Light and optics.
Social studies: We are working on a powerpoint presentation on a provincial park. Some students have finished but we are also looking into ways to enrich our presentations with more information and pictures.
We have a field trip coming up on November 23rd to the Galt Museum. I’m still in the process of finalizing details regarding volunteers so please stay tuned for an email.
