Back to school!

Remy enjoying Chinook Lake

It's been an enjoyable two months of summer for me and my family. I've enjoyed the time to relax my brain for a bit, and the chance I had to travel places I haven't visited before. We spent 10 days driving for the first bit of July. First to Portland, where I was able to experience the war-like atmosphere created by American 4th of July celebrations. After a few days we began driving to Las Vegas, with a stop in Reno. I am grateful for Google Maps and that we didn't have to stay the night at the Clown motel in Tonopah Nevada. After a few days in Vegas we headed home, and were grateful to be out of the car. The rest of my summer was spent with family either at home or in the Crowsnest Pass. We hauled a 6-person tent partway up Turtle Mountain and spent the night there. It was a great experience, but next time I'll take a smaller tent.

I'm looking forward to my new adventure in Grade 5 FRIM. I've taught Grade 6 FRIM before so it's not totally new territory for my. I'm grateful that I have some of the students I taught in Grade 3 back with me. I'm looking forward to being able to see how they've grown, and working with them to prepare them for middle school.

I will do my best to keep this blog updated at least a couple times a month with the goings-on of our classroom. If you ever have any questions, do not hesitate to email me.
