Feb 5th 2021
We had a great week back at school. It was so nice to be in the classroom again and I hope the kids enjoyed it as much as I did. We spent some time presenting the playgrounds which were extremely well done, thank you for your support with those.
We will be having a Valentine's celebration next Friday on the 12th. I will send home a list of first names if your child chooses to bring cards for other students on Monday. If you are sending cards, please have them at school by the 10th so I can set them aside for 2 days to "quarantine". As far as snacks go on Friday, once again I think the simplest way to go about it is to have each child bring a treat for themself. Please let me know if you have any questions about the party.
Here's a look at what else we're up to next week:
French: We are going to be practicing our first Dictee that is complete sentences, along with plugging along in Alphabetique, pages 89-96.
English: We are going to start writing another informational book, using the ones they wrote over the time at home as a starting point and reference to see how they can improve their writing. We will also continue to practice our spelling test.
Math: We will be doing a quick quiz about addition and subtraction Monday to see if we need to spend a bit more time on that concept. If all goes well we'll move on to measurement this week.
Science: We will be building small structures with plasticene on Monday, and then building towers on Tuesday.
Social Studies: We will be doing a bit of finishing up on our tradition project, and then spending some time continuing with India, wrapping it up hopefully by the end of the month.
Have a wonderful weekend!
