First FULL week was a success too!

I am pleased to report that we have finished our first full week of school. Usually this week is pretty tough and long for students (and teachers) but we've made it!
Some highlights of the week include:
-choosing our class mascot (Red, the bear)
-learning about 1 000 000!
-an introduction to the upcoming federal election
-an introduction to electricity, such as natural and man-made sources, and safe and unsafe practices
-completing our first story in our narrative unit in English language arts
Much of what the students have been working on will be placed in a "time capsule", which is really just a file folder, but my hope is that we will open them in June and see how far we've come this year with our learning.
Looking forward to next week, we hope to do some hands-on work with electricity (safely of course), looking more into the writing process and how to revise our work, representing big numbers in a variety of ways, and continuing to get to know Canada's geography.
The weekend awaits!
