Happy Thanksgiving!

Students' art on display

This Thanksgiving I am grateful for clear skies, my family, and my students. I am grateful for the smiling faces that greet me everyday, their bright personalities, and individual personalities that make each day a pleasure to be in my classroom.

This week in Science we made open and closed circuits, finding different ways to light up our little light bulbs. With there being no school next Monday and Tuesday, we're give Science a break next week, but the following week we'll be making switches.

In Social Studies this week we watched some leaders debate highlights, discussed the reasons behind Orange Shirt Day, and planned our final election project that we'll be working on next week. The students will be taking part in Student Vote on Friday. I encourage you to discuss the election with their students, and how the issues and the different parties affect you and your household.

We finished our stories in English, and will be sharing them next week in their final form. We will also start our next unit on reading short stories.

In French we did some reading about the election. We will be looking into the verb "être" next week as the students rocked "avoir" this week.

Next Thursday is Pyjama and Stuffy day since the school reached its first goal for Dragon Days. Continue to donate so that the students can reach their other goals. And another reminder that there is no school on Monday or Tuesday of next week.
