Hello October!

The best way to spend the snow day

Well this was quite a week. The first time in both my career as a teacher and a student that I've had a snow day. When I taught in Hinton we'd have days when the buses would stop running but school still went on anyways. So Monday was a special day and I'm wondering if I'll ever have another snow day in my career. My wife is from the east coast where snow days are much more common so it was no big deal for her.

This week we made circuits and drew diagrams of the circuits we made. We will be learning about switches and other parts of circuits next week.

We continued to look at the election and how do discern between facts and opinions, and how to tell whether a news source is trustworthy or not. Over the next couple weeks, students will be put in groups and assigned a local candidate to research and will make a presentation about them and their party.

In French we've continued to do our best with adjectives and matching them according to number and gender. We are going to wrap that up next week with a little quiz. We are also working on more reading strategies and looking at news articles.

In English we continued our work on stories, and will be starting our final copies next week.

Orange Shirt Day is now on October 9th. Dragon days is continuing next week so please continue to donate so that we can enjoy things such as Scientists in Schools and other presenters. Have a wonderful weekend!
