I'm excited to be back in the classroom this coming week. Online learning is a great learning experience for me as well, but I definitely prefer being in the classroom.
Here's a peek at what we're up to this coming week:
Monday! We will spend most of this day going over the work we were doing at home this week. I'm going to go over the assignments, give some time for the kids to catch up if they need to, and provide some support where needed to help everyone get their duotangs finished up.
After Monday:
Maths: We will quickly review 2 digit addition and move on to 3 digit addition. I anticipate taking the whole week to help kids master this before moving on to subtraction next week.
French Language Arts: I will hand out the new Dictée on Wednesday and we will do some practice with that. Aside from that, we need to do some catching up in Alphabetique, so we will be spending a fair amount of time with that. We are also starting some French reading groups this week to keep making progress with our reading.
English Language Arts: We are going to be starting an informational writing project this week. Students will pick a subject in which they are experts, and teach us all by writing booklets on their subject. We are also going to be focusing on our English reading, and the next spelling test will be handed out on Friday.
Science: We are going to be doing a bridge-building activity on Tuesday. Students will need to make a bridge that spans a certain distance and holds a certain load using only 3 pieces of paper.
Social Studies: We are going to be doing some reading about the history of India, answering some questions, and then looking at 2 famous Indian people, Gandhi and Mother Theresa.
Have a wonderful week!
