Report Cards and Interviews!

Hello!

It's hard to believe we've finished the first term already. Today, your children should be bringing home the usual brown report card envelope. In the envelope, instead of the report card, you will find instructions on how to access the report card online. If you have any questions, you can contact the office and they will be able to help you out.

Parent-teacher interviews are taking place on Thursday Nov. 21st. I'm happy to see that some parents have already booked, and some have contacted me about alternative times. If you haven't booked, please do so by visiting https://ad.lethsd.ab.ca/bookings.

On December 3rd at 1:00pm, the Grade 4 and 5 French Immersion students will be leading our monthly Gratitude Assembly, with the theme of travel. We are asking for each family to please email us 1 picture of your child travelling- this can be somewhere in Alberta, in Canada or internationally. We need to receive your photo no later than Monday, November 25th. Please also include the location of the photo. Please also note that we are encouraging students to wear a shirt, hat, or some type of prop/accessory from a trip or that is used when travelling on the day of the assembly.

Thank you so much for helping us to make this assembly a success and we hope to see you there!

In Social Studies, we've started looking at the regions of Canada. Over the next few weeks they will be creating a presentation about one of Canada's six regions.

In Science, we will be wrapping up our Electricity and Magnetism unit over the next 2 weeks. It's been a great and informative unit!

In French Language Arts we've been working on informative writing, and the students have completed several books that teach readers about a specific subject. We will be continuing this next week as well.

In English we've been doing various reading, writing, and grammar work. We will soon be doing some novel studies as well.

In math we've been working on 2-digit multiplication. We're slowly working our way through it as it's a tough concept (that I haven't taught for years!). We'll be continuing it next week as well and will hopefully have a class of experts soon!

Have a wonderful weekend!
