I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with food and family in one form or another. I want to thank the parents who met with me for Parent Teacher interviews for taking the time and effort to meet online. If we didn’t get a chance to meet, please get in touch with me and we can set up a time that works.

I look forward to Monday and seeing the kids again and getting back into our learning. Here’s a look at what we’ll be up to:

Math: We will be finishing up our patterns unit by reviewing increasing and decreasing numerical patterns and other patterns as well.

French: We will be creating a presenting a small oral presentation of one of our most important things in our lives. We will be finishing a small writing project in Alphabetique and moving on to chapter 2 with a reading activity and then talking about common and proper nouns.

English: We are going to be working on our My Terrific Teacher writing project based off Hooray for Diffendoofer day by Dr. Seuss. We will also be taking some time each day to practice our spelling words for the test on Friday.

Sciences: We will be finishing a discussion on safe and unsafe sounds. We will then be doing a small experiment to see how stringed musical instruments change their sounds.

Etudes Sociales: We will be finishing a small writing project about places we’ve visited and start making a travel brochure to entice people to come visit Canada.

We are going to be starting a winter clothing drive this week. We are asking families to donate new or gently used adult size winter clothing: tuques, gloves, scarves, coats, blankets. The students will be in charge of collecting donations from the entire school. In early November we will be giving the donations to the Sage Clan Patrol who can distribute the items to those in need.

My cat, just because.
