We’ve had quite an exciting couple weeks. We’ve welcomed our student teacher Mme. Peddle into our classroom and she has been a great addition. We went on our first field trip in at least a year and a half and learned lots about coal mining in Lethbridge at the Galt Museum.

Here’s a peek at what we’ll be up to next week.

Math: We are working on finishing our Data Analysis unit, and will be creating our own survey questions, gathering the data, and presenting it using a pictogram and a bar graph.

French: We are starting a novel study which will last us a few weeks. We’ll also be studying our dictée words and practicing some reading strategies.

English: We will be continuing some work reading informational articles and how to better understand what we are reading. We will also be doing a bit of grammar work and practicing our spelling words.

Science: We will be doing a brief experiment about what we can see in the dark, and finishing a collage about what things emit light, and what reflects it.

Social Studies: We are going to be looking at Alberta’s fossil history.
